FAST PACED WINGER…
Jeremy Doku is City’s third summer signing of the 2023/24 season and has joined the Club on a five-year deal, keeping him at City until the summer of 2028.
The Belgium international made the move from Stade Rennais, where he played 92 games in his three seasons with the Ligue 1 outfit.
He has recently become a regular name in his national team’s squad list, having featured for the Red Devils in the 2020 Euros and 2022 World Cup.
Extremely quick and explosive and blessed with great acceleration, agility, balance and body strength, Doku is most renowned for his prodigious dribbling skills, flair and trickery.
His first taste of football began in Antwerp where he started off at various clubs before joining Anderlecht at the age of 10 where he would rise through the ranks to make his professional debut for the club on 25 November 2018, aged 16.
He went on to score his first professional goal for Anderlecht on 1 December 2019 in a Belgian Division A match against KV Ostoonde.
After 37 appearances in the Belgian topflight, Doku moved to Ligue One side Stade Rennais on 5 October 2020.
His time in France has been slightly overshadowed with injuries but after careful reintroduction to the Stade Rennais squad last season, Doku made a significant contribution to the team’s fourth-place finish.
He leaves Stade Rennais having scored 12 goals and assisted 10 in his 92 appearances.
