Benjamin Mendy, fresh from making his City debut on Saturday, continued his search for full match sharpness, and Ilkay Gundogan, who appeared for the EDS on Friday in the 2-2 with Leicester, is still making progress in his recovery from a knee injury.
Danilo and Leroy Sane were also involved, as were Fabian Delph and Yaya Toure.
City have taken seven points from their first three games of the season - but now have a two-week wait until their next game at home to Liverpool.
