City’s new recruit Aymeric Laporte jumped straight into action, taking part in his first training session with the Blues on Tuesday afternoon.
Pep Guardiola explained Wednesday night’s Premier League visit of West Brom may arrive too soon for the defender’s paperwork to be completed but there was no time to waste as the Frenchman settled into his new surroundings.
The 23-year-old made the switch for Manchester from Athletic Bilbao as Guardiola’s sixth signing of the 2017/18 season and has signed a deal until 2023.
Regarded as one of the most promising young defenders in Europe, Laporte will take the number 14 shirt and is eager to help the Blues in their hunt for silverware.
