Manchester City crossed the T’s and dotted the I’s as they search for a third W in seven days at the Etihad.
But that did not mean it was all serious ahead of our Premier League clash with Southampton, as proven by the team’s high spirits before, during and after training.
The session at the CFA included a favourite among the players – the bin challenge – but the buoyant mood was clear to see before the team had even set foot on the pitch.

But despite clearly enjoying themselves there was still a competitive edge to the fun drills and the players know they need to be at their best against a Saints side with a point to prove.
Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side will be back at the Etihad for the second time in four days on Saturday afternoon, after we ran out as 3-1 winners in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night.
And while we are fully focused on edging closer to top spot in the Premier League, Pep Guardiola’s men still show that they are really enjoying their football at the moment.
