But despite clearly enjoying themselves there was still a competitive edge to the fun drills and the players know they need to be at their best against a Saints side with a point to prove.

Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side will be back at the Etihad for the second time in four days on Saturday afternoon, after we ran out as 3-1 winners in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night.

And while we are fully focused on edging closer to top spot in the Premier League, Pep Guardiola’s men still show that they are really enjoying their football at the moment.
