City’s UEFA Women’s Champions League campaign gets under way on Thursday as we face Lugano in the first leg of our last-32 tie.
Nick Cushing‘s side go into the game fresh from a historic win on Saturday’s in the inaugural women’s Manchester derby.
It was a fine second-half display against United, and Cushing believes his squad are in fine shape.
“We’re a better team than last season,” he said.
“We have an exceptional work ethic. This is the hungriest team we’ve had in terms of training hard and wanting to beat every team.
“All we have to do is work through the schedule because they want to be the best.”
