Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola was handed a huge boost on Tuesday when Vincent Kompany, Leroy Sane and Fernando all returned to first-team training.
Club captain Kompany, who has been training alone in order to regain his fitness, has been out since suffering a knee injury during the win over Crystal Palace in November, while Sane, 20, hasn’t played since scoring his first goal for the club in December’s win over Arsenal at the Etihad.
Brazilian midfielder Fernando, who was in fine form before his setback, last appeared during the Boxing Day win over Hull City.
City play Everton on Sunday as they look to keep the pressure on Premier League leaders Chelsea in what is turning into a tight title race and have won five of their last six in all competitions, including a convincing 5-0 win away at West Ham in their last outing.
