Manager Pep Guardiola stepped up the tempo ahead of Saturday’s clash with Chelsea.

Winter has well and truly arrived in East Manchester and hats and gloves were in abundance as the players trained at the City Football Academy.

Kicking off with a Rondo, Nolito and Kelechi Iheanacho were the men in the middle as the defensive trio of Angelino, Aleks Kolarov and Pablo Maffeo kept them chasing the ball, all ably assisted by David Silva.

Onto the main drill and Pep and the coaching staff had devised an intricate passing routine, which the players performed with the aplomb you’d expect from the likes of Yaya Toure and that man Silva.

Earlier in the session, the entire squad and coaching staff observed a minute’s silence to pay their respects to the Chapecoense team and the other victims of Colombian plane crash.
