Manchester City edged through to the Carabao Cup quarter-finals thanks to a penalty shoot-out win over Wolves on Tuesday,

It was a special night for Claudio Bravo, who made a string of fine saves during the 120 minutes before denying Alfred N’Diaye and Conor Coady in the shoot-out, which City won 4-1.

“Today he was the best player,” Yaya Toure said afterwards. “He helped us a lot. He made some important saves today and the penalties as well.

“He’s been the best and, for me, he was the man of the match.

“He’s been excellent today. I’ve been working with two or three ‘keepers here – Joe, Claudio and Caballero – three very good goalkeepers in penalty situations. Today he showed that.

“He’s been under pressure with three one against ones with the striker. It’s not easy and he made a great contribution. He won the game for us.”

City are now in the hat for Thursday quarter-final draw. It starts at 4pm GMT and we will have full details right here on mancity.com
