City were beaten at the Etihad Stadium for the first time this season as Brentford’s Ivan Toney scored a brace.
Toney had given the visitors the lead in the 16th minute before Phil Foden levelled on the stroke of half-time with a cracking equaliser.
City pushed on for that decisive second but it was Bees striker Toney who eventually bagged the late winner.
Despite the result, we head into the World Cup winter break in second spot, within touching distance of leaders Arsenal.
