We travelled down south to Crawley as WSL leaders, looking to continue our pursuit for the title after the April international break.
Standing in our way were a Brighton side hoping to equal their highest-ever WSL finish, with a win of their own moving them closer to fifth-placed Tottenham Hotspur.
The hosts came into the game having beaten Arsenal in the FA Cup quarter-final, so confidence was high at the Broadfield Stadium.
But City were also in positive mood ahead of the tie, looking to move another step closer to a first WSL title in a decade.
