It was the dream day for boyhood Blue Nico O’Reilly, who scored both goals as City claimed a ninth League Cup in our history.
After growing into the match, we were well on top by the time O’Reilly pounced on a Kepa Arrizabalaga spill to nod into an empty net as we hit the hour mark.
And it was two for City just five minutes later when O’Reilly met a floated Nunes cross to power into the far corner.

Quite the weekend for O’Reilly, who celebrated his 21st birthday on Saturday!
The Premier League leaders threw it all at us after that, but a strong defence held firm to spark wild celebrations in the packed out blue half of Wembley.
Only Liverpool have ever won this competition more while Pep Guardiola’s five successes is a record for managers.
