A treble from James McAtee and late Romeo Lavia strike earned Brian Barry-Murphy his first victory as EDS manager in a breath-taking, end to end affair at the Academy Stadium.
McAtee slid home the game’s opening goal early in the second half, but two quickfire strikes from the visitors after the hour turned the game on its head.
With 12 minutes to play the midfielder curled home a delightful free-kick from the edge of the Blackburn area to haul our young blues level, before the most dramatic of comebacks was completed as stoppage time approached when our no.10 squired a first time effort under Antonios Stergiakis.
But there was still time for City to add further gloss to the scoreline, with Lavia tapping home on the rebound after his initial penalty, earned by a late run into the box from Oscar Bobb, had been saved.
