The City youngsters went into the game looking to build on our superb start to 2023 which had seen us go unbeaten, winning three out of our last four matches.
And City knew that victory would be enough to fire us back to the top of the PL2 table and overtake Chelsea.
However, pitted against a talented Liverpool side looking to make inroads towards the top of the table themselves, it promised to be a tough assignment.
