Following City’s tough 3-1 win at Brentford earlier in the month, Pep Guardiola and his team expected another difficult assignment when we welcomed Thomas Frank’s side to the Etihad.
Despite City’s constant poking and prodding around Brentford’s box in the first half, the boys in Blue were unable to take the lead with Brentford also unable to capitalise on a handful of chances.
And with Brentford the only team out of 21 squads he has faced, of course it was Erling Haaland who finally broke the deadlock on 71 minutes with a clinical finish.
