Following a tight turnaround from City’s 2-0 Premier League Cup win over Southampton just three days prior, our young Blues turned our attention back to league action as we welcomed Burnley to the City Football Academy.
The squad were looking for an eighth consecutive league victory after a 5-1 win over Derby County in our most recent Under-18 Premier League North assignment.
Burnley, on the other hand, came into the tie off the back of a 6-0 defeat to our cross-city rivals and just three wins across nine head-to-heads, meaning the Clarets will be hungry to return to winning ways.
If last season’s clash on home soil is anything to go by, a 5-0 win while we saw an eventful 2-2 draw in the return fixture.
But would would come away with all three points?
