After a tense 1-1 draw at Leeds United and difficult 3-1 defeat to Derby in recent weeks, our Under-18s travelled to Liverpool looking to return to winning ways as the race for the Under-18 Premier League North title continues to heat up.
In our earlier encounter with the Reds earlier in the season, Oliver Reiss’ side fell to a narrow 3-2 defeat at the City Football Academy.
So, when we arrived in Merseyside on Saturday morning, our young boys in blue were determined to deny Liverpool the chance to complete the double and in turn give title contenders Manchester United the chance to go top of the table.
