Gareth Taylor’s side travelled to Walton Hall Park on Wednesday evening to face Everton on Merseyside.
We entered the match after taking four points from our first two Barclays Women’s Super League fixtures of the new term following a 2-0 win over West Ham and a battling 1-1 draw with Chelsea.
But we would need to be at our best against the Toffees if we were to start our League Cup journey with victory.
The Club have a rich history in the competition as the silverware represented our first major honour since the reformation of our Women’s Team in 2014 when we beat Arsenal 1-0 in the final.
In total, we have lifted four Continental Cups with our latest success coming in 2022.
