City were back in European action as we faced the Czech champions in our third match of the new format.
After a draw against Inter in our opening game, a 4-0 victory over Slovan Bratislava in matchday two saw us in the top-eight places to qualify for the next round.
But with six games still to go, it is early days and there are plenty of points to play for.
Sparta had also made a good start with four points from their opening two matches and brought a lively fanbase to the stadium.
City welcomed Nathan Ake back into the side after injury as Pep Guardiola made five changes from the starting line-up that secured a dramatic late win at Wolves in the Premier League.
