City headed into this fixture on the back of a hectic week when we recorded victories over Manchester United and Napoli followed by a 1-1 draw with Arsenal.
After dominating possession against the League One opponents, Phil Foden fired us ahead on the 17-minute mark with a low shot from the edge of the box.
Our Academy graduate later turned provider as he provided the assist for Savinho’s goal after 73 minutes played.
It was a night to boast about our talented players that have risen through the ranks with Divine Mukasa starting for his first appearance for City before Jaden Heskey and Reigan Heskey were introduced to the proceedings in the final stages.
In total we saw eight of our Academy products involved in the tie and a real testimony to the training at the CFA.
