City captain Steph Houghton, sports presenter and lifelong City fan Natalie Pike, and Senior Data Scientist for City Football Group, Sasha Satikova join host Ellen Ellard for a special International Women’s Day Roundtable discussion.

An annual day of celebration and observance, International Women’s Day highlights achievements of women around the world.

And in this special Roundtable discussion, City Studios shine a spotlight on some of the incredible female talent across all aspects of the footballing world.

City’s captain, Houghton is a Club legend in her own right and our record appearance holder since our professional relaunch in 2014.

The defender was part of that initial squad a decade ago, and she explains her decision to join the Club ahead of our first WSL season, despite having just won a Cup double as Arsenal captain.

Elsewhere, Pike reflects on her experiences covering City’s Treble Trophy Parade, and Satikova goes into more detail around her slightly less conventional route into football.

All three women discuss their different professional journeys so far, as well as chatting about the support they’ve received at City.

But while things have certainly improved in recent years, our trio open up about some of the obstacles they still face on a regular basis working in football, including a candid discussion on the pressure and expectation that’s still present, particularly in the media.

While all are role models in their own right, they also chat about their personal inspirations while growing up in a fascinating and insightful discussion.
