Kelechi Iheanacho’s penalty in the 89th minute proved decisive, as City were edged out in a thrilling, end-to-end encounter at Wembley Stadium.

There was also a first senior bow for 18-year-old winger Sam Edozie who, after a standout pre-season, again impressed on the left flank.
Despite the low scoreline, both sides carved out several clearcut chances, with an Ilkay Gundogan free-kick forcing an impressive diving save from Kasper Schmeichel early on.
At the other end, City were thankful to Zack Steffen for a phenomenal save to deny Jamie Vardy late in the first half.
But our American stopper was finally beaten late on when, despite getting a hand to Iheanacho’s spotkick, couldn’t prevent the Nigerian from finding the top corner.
