But with only goal difference keeping City off the division’s summit ahead of the clash, it was imperative we continued our fine form in order to bolster our title push on Merseyside.
However, against Liverpool who entered the match unbeaten across their previous five WSL outings, we would need to be at our best to collect three points in Tranmere.
