Bayern were forced to play with 10-men for 70 minutes after Medhi Benati was sent off for a foul on Aguero, which allowed our No.10 to fire us in front from the penalty spot.

The Germans, who were then managed by Pep Guardiola, hit back through Xabi Alonso’s free-kick, before Robert Lewandowski headed home to give them an unlikely half-time lead and that’s how it stayed until City’s No.10 made the visitors pay for two errors.

A misplaced Alonso pass allowed Aguero sprint away from the Bayern back four and calmly convert an equaliser and, when Jerome Boateng made a mess of a clearance, the Argentine seized his opportunity, stealing the ball and firing past Manuel Neuer to the delight of the home crowd.
