The Algerian winger got the home side off to a flier, scoring twice in the opening 25 minutes before Benjamin Mendy volleyed in from a sumptuous Kevin De Bruyne cross to net his first City goal.
Ferran Torres opened his Premier League account after the break, before Mahrez wrapped up his hat-trick and City’s biggest win of the season when he headed home from Phil Foden‘s centre.
A brilliant attacking display might have yielded an even greater winning margin, but Torres and Gabriel Jesus both had goals disallowed for offside.
