Zaha opened the scoring in the 6th minute, slotting into the bottom corner after Gallagher stole the ball in midfield and sent the forward clear of the City to defence.
City regrouped but struggled to create chances with our usual fluency and our hopes of a fightback were dealt a blow on the stroke of half-time when Aymeric Laporte was sent off for a professional foul on Zaha.
Despite the one-man deficit, Guardiola’s men were on top in the second half and thought they’d equalised when Gabriel Jesus converted Phil Foden’s superb cross at the far post, but the joy proved short lived as VAR ruled the midfielder had strayed offside in the build.
With the game becoming increasingly stretched as City pushed for a winner, Palace capitalised on the counter, when Michael Olise teed Gallagher up to fire in off the post from 10-yards.
