Some wins feel like more than simply three points and that was the case as City beat Everton 1-0 at Goodison Park on Saturday.

Against a side fighting for their lives and much improved after a change of manager, City managed to beat Everton with a single goal, scored by Phil Foden with just nine minutes of normal time reaming.

It felt like a hugely significant day. With defeat last time out against Tottenham reducing our lead at the top of the Premier League table to three points, victory on Merseyside felt vital. Everton made it incredibly hard for us, but we showed real fighting quality and deserved the win.

There’s no doubt about it: the final three months of the season are going to be tense, every game now of huge significance in both league and cup competitions.
