Four goals from Gabriel Jesus and a stunning Rodrigo strike were enough to earn City an important three points at the Etihad Stadium.
A quickfire double from Jesus saw Pep Guardiola‘s men cruise into a two-goal lead inside 23 minutes, but the Hornets halved the deficit before the half-hour through Hassane Kamara.
However, Rodrigo swung the match back in City’s favour when he volleyed home an unstoppable drive into the top corner of Ben Foster’s net before the break.
And the scoring was complete inside eight second half minutes when Jesus confidently converted a penalty to complete his hat-trick, before slotting home Kevin De Bruyne‘s cutback soon after.
