Relive our monumental derby day win at Old Trafford from our unique Pitcam angle...

Our first derby at Old Trafford and we left with all three points following a thrilling 3-1 win over Marc Skinner’s side.

Gareth Taylor‘s squad were looking to bounce back after a frustrating 1-0 defeat at home to Brighton with a much more clinical performance in front of the opponent’s goal.

The hosts, however, took the lead against the run of play courtesy of a Katie Zelem strike.

But City showed our resilience and determination which was embodied in a fantastic run by Chloe Kelly on the left flank before teeing up Jill Roord for her second WSL goal of the season.

And less than a minute later Lauren Hemp fired the ball into the top left corner to give City the lead shortly before half-time.

City continued to thrive and dominate the centre of the pitch which made it difficult for United to play free-flowing football.

And in the second half, Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw, who assisted Hemp’s goal, extended our lead with a goal of her own.

Her hard work paid off as she put Mary Earps under pressure after a bad back pass left United exposed. Earps attempted to play the ball long but was unsuccessful as the ball ricocheted off Shaw and into the back of the net from the edge of the box.

City had to play the final 18 minutes with 10 players after Laia Aleixandri was shown a second yellow card but Taylor’s side were compact and unified as we held out for the victory and moved back into the top three.
