A Nathan Ake header, Nordi Mukiele own goal and Riyad Mahrez penalty cancelled out Christopher Nkunku’s close-range header to hand Pep Guardiola‘s men a 3-1 half-time lead in his 300th match as City boss.
And the excitement continued after the break, with Jack Grealish grabbing a goal on his Champions League debut, Joao Cancelo smashing home a spectacular fifth and Gabriel Jesus marking his 200th appearance for the Club with a goal from the bench.
But it wasn’t all one-way traffic, with Nkunku completing his hat-trick to ensure City had to work for the victory until the final whistle.
Nonetheless, Pep Guardiola‘s men claimed an important three points in Group A as we made it an incredible 16 goals in three home matches so far this campaign.
