With Arsenal and Chelsea out of action due to their participation in the Continental Cup final, we were looking to take advantage of their league absence and move to second in the table with three points.
And we came into the clash buoyed by our 8-1 Women’s FA Cup success over Bristol City last time out – which also followed our crucial 2-1 win over the Gunners in our previous WSL fixture.
It was also a day for Gareth Taylor to celebrate as the meeting with Rehanne Skinner’s side represented his 100th match in charge of our Women’s team.
