The forward netted her 25th goal for the Club 10 minutes from time after Lucy Staniforth and Alessia Russo’s second half efforts had cancelled out Khadija Shaw’s opener in a thrilling derby clash.

City were forced to do it the hard way after Georgia Stanway was sent off for a lunge on Leah Galton in the 35th minute, shortly before Shaw headed in Demi Stokes’ pinpoint delivery to put the visitors in front.

Two goals in three minutes put United in the driving seat, as Staniforth flicked home Ella Toone’s cross before Russo picked out the bottom corner with a precise finish, but when Jess Park’s thunderbolt cannoned back off the crossbar, White was in the right place to complete City’s fightback.
