How does a football team go about replacing a hugely successful and popular manager?

And how do they then set about revolutionising the playing staff and bringing in serial trophy winners of the highest calibre?

We follow Manchester City club executives as they look to forge a new era of success for our women’s team.

With Nick Cushing moving to Major League Soccer with New York City, we needed a top-class replacement.

Cushing had led City’s women’s team since its reformation in 2014, guiding us to six trophies in as many years with three Continental Cup successes, two FA Cup triumphs and one FA Women’s Super League title.

The board eventually settled on Gareth Taylor, a former City player who had impressed as U18s boss. We follow their journey in making that decision.

And once we had appointed his successor, we needed to bring in some world-class stars, with the likes of Rose LavelleSam Mewis and Lucy Bronze arriving.

We go behind the scenes as those deals were struck.
