City travelled to Chelsea, the early pace setters in the Premier League, and won 1-0. And it was more convincing than the scoreline suggests.
City were totally dominant and Gabriel Jesus’ deflected strike was the least we deserved. We were absolutely brilliant.
It also marked a special occasion for Pep Guardiola. This was his 221st victory as City boss, which means he’s won more games than any other manager in our history. He’s achieved it in double quick time. Indeed, Les McDowall, who managed 220, did so in a 13-year stint.
After the game we spoke to Pep and the matchwinner Jesus – and joining us in the matchday live studio were Nedum Onuoha and Steven McInerney.
