We went to the Portuguese coast for our first assignment in this year’s competition.
In a league phase that almost mirrors the men’s competition but only comprises of six games rather than eight, City will be looking to finish in the top 22 come the end.
We’ll also play the likes of PSG, Napoli and Barcelona at this stage but before then, it was all about facing the Portuguese giants.
After two wins and a defeat domestically already this campaign, it was a fresh start in the European game.
It also marked Oliver Reiss’ first outing in the competition as manager, having taken over the EDS from Ben Wilkinson in the summer.
