Tuesday’s Champions League Group A game in Paris didn’t go to plan, with City suffering a 2-0 defeat to PSG.

Idrissa Gueye fired the home side into the lead with a fine finish into the top corner, and Lionel Messi scored his first goal for PSG in the second half.

But it was by no means one-way traffic. City created plenty and should have scored at least a couple of goals.

The City players will be disappointed with the result, but there was plenty in our all-round performance to be pleased about.

It was a thoroughly entertaining game between two of the favourites to win the competition.

This was City’s first Champions League group defeat since September 2018, when we lost 2-1 to Lyon. That was a run of 18 games unbeaten.

After the game, we heard from Pep Guardiola, Ruben Dias and Bernardo Silva – and joining us in the Matchday Live studio were Nedum Onuoha and Paul Dickov.
