Julian Alvarez added the gloss to an already incredible night by sweeping the ball past Thibaut Courtois in added time.
The final whistle sparked joyous scenes at the Etihad Stadium, with the players and coaches taking a lap of honour to thank the capacity crowd for their incredible support.
