The first leg saw the two most recent winners of the trophy face off with Real winning it in 2022, the year before our triumph last season as part of our historic Treble.
At the Santiago Bernabeu two years ago, Carlo Ancelotti’s side scored two late goals before Real won the tie in extra-time.
But last season Kevin De Bruyne scored a stunning strike in a 1-1 draw before a brilliant 4-0 victory at the Etihad the following week.
