Enjoy this CITY+ documentary on an eventful season under Sven-Goran Eriksson.

The Sven Year charts the highs and lows of Eriksson’s solitary season as City manager and features interviews with the man himself, fans and former players such as Elano and Nedum Onuoha.

The Swede was appointed in the summer of 2007 and his arrival saw an influx of continental talent as City made a flying start to the campaign before our form trailed off significantly after Christmas.

It culminated in an 8-1 loss to Middlesbrough on the final day, after which Eriksson was sacked, but that season is remembered fondly by supporters for the exiting brand of football instilled by former England manager.

The Sven Year recounts key moments in that period, including our first league double over Manchester United since 1970, the emergence of the precocious Michael Johnson and that heavy defeat at the Riverside Stadium.

You can enjoy it all in the documentary above, which is available on CITY+.
