Rayan Cherki opened the scoring early on with a clinical right-foot finish while Antoine Semenyo doubled our advantage just before the break with another fine effort, his sixth in his last nine Premier League games.
Erling Haaland also had an effort just clear the crossbar while Cherki had an exquisite strike well saved by Guglielmo Vicario but the visitors had to settle for the two-goal advantage heading into the break.
It looked comfortable at that stage but Tottenham came out with renewed vigour and pulled a goal back shortly after the break through Dominic Solanke although it could easily have been ruled out for a foul on Marc Guéhi with the City defender having his foot clipped as the Tottenham forward swept home.

It was soon level as Solanke found an impressive finish to make it 2-2.
There were opportunities for both sides to earn three valuable points - Xavi Simons for the hosts and Tijjani Reijnders for the visitors going closest.
In the end, though, it remained level as the final whistle blew in North London.
