Andrée Jeglertz’s side faced West Ham on the final day of the season knowing we would lift the trophy after the full time whistle having sealed the title with a game to spare.
But there were still a final three points up for grabs, and the opportunity to equal our record points haul in the WSL with victory.
West Ham were pushing to finish the season on a positive note as well, though, having safely navigated their way away from the threat of relegation into WSL 2.
So, while neither side could achieve lofty goals on the final day with relegation and the title all sorted, there was pride and, for City, another 90 minutes to prepare before our Adobe Women’s FA Cup final at Wembley later this month.
