As our penultimate League Phase game at the Joie Stadium got under way, Liverpool looked set on causing disruption from kick-off, with a catty opening affair.
But as time went on, City quickly found control and rhythm. Our patience was rewarded on 15 minutes when Floyd Samba tapped home Chrisitan McFarlane’s low-driven cross from the left.

In the second half, City had to stand strong against another wave of Liverpool attacks as the Reds searched for a way back into the game.
Resolute in defending at one end, City showcased why we are the league’s top scorers at the other.
Isaiah Dada-Mascoll headed home Ryan McAidoo’s corner to double our lead on 62 minutes but it wasn’t quite game over just yet.
Liverpool continued to pile on the pressure in the closing stages. But a unified City earned an equally rewarding fifth successive clean sheet to see us climb to fifth in the PL2 table.
