The North title winners started off strong with a Teddie Lamb brace taking his tally to 25 for the season and give City a 2-0 lead at the break.
But the Toffees would not go down without a fight.

Two quick goals, one from Cieran Loney and the other Jake Doughty, levelled the score.
Finlay Gorman put City back in front with a fantastic left-footed finish but was quickly cancelled out by another Loney strike.
The game’s momentum continued to shift and as we approached the latter stages of the second half, Everton took grasp of the narrative.
Doughty gave the hosts the lead for the first time in the match with a well-hit shot that rattled off the under side of City’s crossbar before making the back of the net bulge.
Loney completed his hat-trick to confirm the frustrating 5-3 defeat at Finch Farm.
