And it was no less than City deserved when Justin Oboavwodou drew us level on 72 minutes.
The game then went into two gripping periods of extra time.
But with time up and a penalty shoot-out looming, Arsenal struck at the death to secure victory and a place in the final thanks to a Myles Lewis-Skelly header.
