Elite Development Squad winger Ashton Muir says it’s been great to get to play a part in City’s Premier League 2 title triumph after a difficult spell on the sideline.

The 19-year-old picked up an injury in April 2024, and then a setback in Muir’s recovery saw his return to action delayed until April 2025.

But he came back at the perfect moment in the season, with Emilio Lawrence and Farid Alfa-Ruprecht ruled out with injuries for the rest of the campaign, Muir took centre stage in City’s front three.

Five successive starts and two goals in the play-offs, Muir has looked sharp, strong and clinical as he helped City lift a record-breaking fourth PL2 title which he credited to his own hard work away from the pitch.

“I’ve been injured 10 months of the season and to come back and contribute and win trophies is so good. So happy for me and the team, I’m so happy,” said Muir.

“I think that’s credit to myself in the gym for six, seven, eight months. And just the drive I’ve had because I’ve missed so much, I need to catch up.

“And me contributing in these games have just gone from game to game and it’s just been so good.”
