City’s Under-19s take on HJK Helsinki in our UEFA Youth League Round of 32 clash on Wednesday 4 February, with kick-off slated for 15:00 (UK).

Wilkinson and his team have been preparing for our first European outing of 2026.
And ahead of our trip to Finland, Wilkinson detailed that the team are motivated by last season’s run to the quarter-finals, and will be using key learnings as we look to emulate our European success, starting with Helsinki.
“We’re excited. It’s a real prestigious competition,” began Wilkinson.
“We had a relatively successful run last year and we’d like to try and emulate it this year if we can.
“We’re in a good place in the tournament in terms of our last performance [4-0 win against Real Madrid].
“Everyone always looks forward to these ties coming around and this one will be no different.
“We [the team] spoke last year on the knockouts and that the games were just real high level games, all decided on real small details.
“So like focus, concentration, attention to detail is really important if you want to win these games.
“I think all of our knockout games last year could have gone either way or won by the odd goal or penalties or won on big moments.
“You don’t tend to get into the knockout stages unless you’re a top side.
“So there are players who we can draw on in terms of past experiences and all these away games present different challenges and something we can look to embrace and hopefully look forward to.”
