Ben Wilkinson sounded a special salute to his young charges after seeing City sweep to a 6-0 win over Spurs to lift the Premier League Under-17 Cup.

The City youngsters were in inspired form in the Loughborough University showpiece with Josh Adam and Will Dickson both claiming a second half brace after Dan Ogwuru and Carlos Borges had fired us into a 2-0 half-time lead.

Reflecting on a special night, Wilkinson said both the result and manner of our final triumph were what pleased him most.

“The result rewarded the performance and I thought we played really well tonight,” said the lead coach.

“We showed real belief in our principles and a real good style.

“They ticked everything we wanted it was a real good night for us.

“You don’t get too many opportunities to play finals and its good to see how the players handled those moments.

“They were brave and it was really pleasing how they handled the occasion.”
