Manchester City’s Under-18s head coach Ben Wilkinson was left delighted with his young side’s performance after sealing the Under-18s Premier League North title in a 4-2 win against Sunderland.

First half goals from Nico O’Reilly, Justin Oboavwoduo, Isaiah Dada-Mascoll and Joel Ndala secured a crucial win for City’s youngsters, with a Jake Waters double proving to be consolations for the Wearside outfit.

And there was more to celebrate as the victory was followed by applause with our under-18s winning a fourth title in a row.

It is also Wilkinson’s second title as City Under-18s boss, and he expressed his admiration for the first half display of his players.

“Really pleased,” he beamed.

“Obviously we knew today that it was going to be a tough game as they still had the opportunity to win the league as well, so we knew we couldn’t afford to slip up.

“But I think the first half performance in particular was outstanding, the level we showed in terms of our quality on the ball was fantastic I think that we won the game in the first half.”
