Head coach Ben Wilkinson believes there is even more to come from City in the wake of our fine 4-1 FA Youth fourth-round win over Brighton.

City defied both the best efforts of a talented Brighton and intermittent snow flurries at a freezing Academy Stadium to book our place in the fifth round – and a home tie against either Fleetwood or Middlesbrough.

Will Dickson, Joel Ndala, Nico O’Reilly and Ashton Muir were all on target as we maintained our unbeaten start to 2023.

And reflecting on the win, Wilkinson said there was a real sense of momentum about the group.

“I thought we played some really good stuff at times and created more than enough chances but there is room for improvement,” said the head coach

“We’ve got another home draw to look forward to and playing anyone at home we are more than happy.

“It’s been a good start and we’re in a position in both groups (Under-18s and EDS) where we can compete on all fronts.

“We’ve said if we can be there or thereabouts at Christmas then come January it is time to kick on

“There are loads of games to come but if we can keep this momentum going then we are in really good place for the rest of the season.”
