Oliver Reiss’ side made it three successive appearances in the showpiece occasion for youth football with a spirited comeback victory against the Lancashire side.
Valentin Joseph opened the scoring for the visitors early on before Ryan McAidoo levelled things ahead of half-time.
It was all about City in the second period, with Teddie Lamb, Reigan Heskey and Oliver Tevenan on the scoresheet to ensure a successful night all round.
After a triumphant run in 2023/24 before finishing as runners-up last year, City now have the opportunity to win the historic competition for a fifth time in our history.
We’ll play either Manchester United or Crystal Palace in the final on home soil, with our opponents to be decided next week.
