City’s Elite Development Squad head coach Brian Barry-Murphy was full of praise for his skipper, Micah Hamilton, who scored in City’s 2-0 win over West Bromwich Albion.

Hamilton controlled a long diagonal ball before taking on West Brom’s right back. The skipper’s quick feet left the defender confused and on his heels as Hamilton drove into the box and curled an effort into the back of the net.

The triumph at the Joie Stadium was City’s second successive win in Premier League 2 with one game left to play before the 2023/24 season comes to an end for Barry-Murphy’s side.

And while it was only Hamilton’s second goal in the league, the forward’s boss felt the goal was a reflection of the positive season the EDS captain has had over the past few months.

“Micah has had a lot of personal accolades and success this season so to give that back to the players, again we’ve always had that at the Club where the most talented players, the body language is always flawless and the commitment to the team-mates is always there, so Micah was an exceptional symbol of that tonight,” said Barry-Murphy.

“You could see the other players feed off that and replicate it and it creates this enormous that is very hard to stop.”

The boss also reflected on the performance as a whole before previewing our final game of the season which sees City travel to Reading on Monday 29 April.
